Ryan Hollins looking to return to the Celtics

Ryan Hollins, Boston Celtics, Celtics News, State Of The Celtics

You can now add Ryan Hollins to the long list of players that are looking to come back to the Boston Celtics next season. (CSN New England)

Ryan Hollins played less than three months with the Boston Celtics this season. It was more than enough time for him to know he wants to return to the team again.

“Of course,” he told CSNNE.com. “I would love to be here next season.”

“[They pushed me] incredibly hard,” he said. “It’s not just being hard and yelling -- it’s by example. The small things, talking here and there, it’s rubbed off.“

He added, “[I’m] dedicated. I’ve always taken my job seriously and loved the game, but the dedication (on the Celtics), eat sleep drink basketball, every day, every day, every day.”

I have to be honest with you. Ryan Hollins terrified me every time he stepped foot on the court. Yes, he brought a ton of energy and you could tell that he was giving the team everything that he had when he was out there, which is all you can really ask of a role player. Unfortunately, the guy just looked lost on both ends of the floor except for when he was on the receiving end of a Rajon Rondo alley-oop. He was kind of like a chicken with his head cut off and I was always worried that he'd run into one of his teammates and cause an injury or decapitate an opposing player.

The fact that Doc Rivers had to use him in the Eastern Conference Finals should tell you everything you need to know about what the Celtics need this offseason. If they want to bring Hollins back for insurance purposes during the regular season, then I guess that's okay. However, they need to bring in a solid big man over the summer so that Doc isn't resorting to a possible safety hazard in a must-win game next spring/summer.
