In what continues to unfold as the greatest heist in U.S. history that hasn't been exaggerated by a Hollywood filmmaker, Glen Davis has been shelved by the Orlando Magic for two games. (Orlando Sentinel)
The Orlando Magic have suspended Glen Davis for tonight's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Saturday's game against the Indiana Pacers because of what team officials are labeling "conduct detrimental to the team."
Davis had an outburst during the team's shootaround this morning at Amway Center.
"I heard there was an incident and I've yet to talk to the club about it," said John Hamilton, Davis' agent.
If pantsing yourself on an NBA basketball floor during an official NBA regular-season basketball game isn't enough to warrant a suspension, then I can only imagine what Big Baby did at practice to get under Stan Van Gundy's skin. Maybe there was a disagreement and Baby stripped completely naked and ran laps around the practice facility. There's a mental image for you to carry around.
While Glen Davis is using his opportunity to be Glen Davis and get suspended in Orlando, Brandon Bass has been a model citizen, a team player and the most productive player off the bench in Boston. Bass' ability to hit the mid-range jumper consistently has given the Celtics an effective scoring weapon when one of the starting bigs needs a rest and has effectively taken over Baby's role as the fifth player on the floor to close out games. He's only been everything that the Celtics have wanted and needed and all they had to do to get him was dangle an immature, inconsistent, undersized power forward out there.
Thanks, Orlando. What do you want for Dwight?
